Richard Alston Dance Company

Launched in 1994, the Richard Alston Dance Company is one of Britain's most illustrious contemporary dance companies. Alston, a former student of the iconoclastic Merce Cunningham, borrows equally from classical and contemporary inspiration. His fluid, dynamic, and richly sculpted movements are driven by the intricacies of the music, establishing an elaborate dialogue between the two, or as Dance Now describes it, “Bodies sing and...movement takes on the language of music.”
