Borromeo String Quartet

Explosive and expressive, the award-winning Borromeo String Quartet is internationally recognized as one of the most exceptional ensembles performing today. Delivering colorful performances that are emotionally and intellectually captivating, the quartet's debut appearance at Stanford Lively Arts offers a rare opportunity to hear Stravinsky's neoclassical Concertino for String Quartet as well as Bartók's playful yet powerful Quartet No. 5 and Beethoven's eccentric last quartet, String Quartet No. 16 in F Minor, op. 135. Nicholas Kitchen, violin; Kristopher Tong, violin; Mai Motobuchi, viola; Yeesun Kim, cello.

“So rich in details and variety that one might have thought an entire orchestra had been playing.” —Washington Post
