The series of Kamingespräche features influential figures from the political, academic and economic spheres to discuss questions of general interest in an intimate setting.

Prof. Hennessy, inaugurated as tenth Stanford President in 2000 joined Stanford in 1977 as an assistant professor of electrical engineering and became a full professor in 1986. His research interests focus on computer architecture. He is co-founder of MIPS Technologies, member of several prestigious academies, including the National Academy of Sciences, and received numerous awards, most recently a 2005 Founders Award from the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
