Screening of "Ghost in the Shell"

The year is AD 2029. Artificially enhanced humans populating both the real and online world have made national and physical boundraries obsolete. To monitor the multitude of new opportunities of crime, a new breed of law enforcement agents has emerged - Section 9. Major Motoko Kusanagi is assigned to uncover a frightening new threat - a hacker capable of controlling the minds of its victims. In her search for the "Puppet Master", Kusanagi uncovers a disturbing government project and comes to question her own humanity and identity as she occupies a wholly artificial cybernectic body.

"Ghost in the Shell" is based on the manga by Masamune Shirow in 1995. This thought provoking film has even influenced "The Matrix" (1999). Screening is in Japanese with English subtitles.
