Clarence Braddock: The Ethical Significance of Healthcare Disparities

With growing awareness of the existence and extent of healthcare

disparities in the US, recently attention has shifted to understanding

causes and their significance. Although disparities are clearly important from a quality-of-care standpoint, they also have ethical significance. In this session, we will briefly review what we know about disparities and their causes, and will specifically examine the potential causes through the lens of ethical and professional responsibilities.
