  of short films by first-year MFA students in the Documentary Film program
 . Q&A with filmmakers and reception to immediately follow the screening. \
 n\nFilms in Screening Order:\n\nCalling Tomorrow by Gideon Elron (15 min)\
 nAs the streets of San Francisco reveal a city perched at the brink of an 
 uncanny future\, a father and son contemplate the meaning of progress.\n\n
 Verticalization by Jeanne Zhang (10 min)\nInside a typical day of a micro-
 drama production crew in Los Angeles\, where labor and attention are reorg
 anized around vertical screens.\n\nEdgelands by Sarah Genge (10 min)\nThro
 ugh the remains left on the roadside\, nature and the human-built world co
 llide.\n\nThe Gaps Between Us by Mariam Atallah (15 min)\nAgainst the back
 drop of the ongoing destruction of Palestinian life\, the film explores th
 e limits of empathy and the ways loss moves across distance.\n\nApart by T
 ania Castillo (15 min)\nIn a small beauty salon\, women care for each othe
 r while carrying what they left behind.\n\nVISITOR INFORMATION\nThis event
  is open to Stanford affiliates and the general public. Seating for this e
 vent is limited\, and admission will be granted on a first-come\, first-se
 rved basis. Please arrive to the venue early to secure your seat. Admissio
 n is free.\n\nOshman Hall is located within the McMurtry Building on Stanf
 ord campus at 355 Roth Way. Visitor parking is available in designated are
 as and is free after 4pm on weekdays. Alternatively\, take the Caltrain to
  Palo Alto Transit Center and hop on the free Stanford Marguerite Shuttle.
