This April, VPGE will host Stanford’s inaugural 3-minute thesis competition! The competition, whose winner will receive $5,000 in prize money, celebrates graduate student scholarship, cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills and supports students’ capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a lay audience.

This workshop is for interested SDSS students to learn more about the competition, start brainstorming what their submission materials will include, and begin the preparation process to enter into the competition by January 19. Register here!

Who is Eligible?
Current Stanford graduate students who have successfully advanced to candidacy by the start of the fall quarter (September 23). Students can check My Academic Path (MAP) for candidacy qualification. 
Presentations must be based on original dissertation research, showcase new knowledge, and provide research results. Read more about 3MT here.
