Event Details:
The Department of Art and Art History is proud to present its 9th annual campus wide selection of artwork made by undergraduate students.
It is very refreshing to see the creativity and energy thriving among our undergrads in this annual multi-media exhibition.
PANORAMIC ENLIGHTMENT is just a sample of the wider experience across disciplines that our students are engaged with.
With this selected survey we hope to encourage the innovative spirit already present among our students with a visual experience that presents many different approaches to visual thinking in all media found throughout our academic programs. As a faculty member, I constantly feel privileged to experience our students’ work, and often I also feel lucky to learn from them new ways of seeing and new ways of thinking.
This year, I feel most thankful to my co-jurors Maggie Dethloff, Assistant Curator of Photography and New Media at the Cantor Arts Center; and Gabriel Harrison, Associate Director and Curator, Galleries & Exhibitions in the Department of Art and Art; and to Daniel Brickman, the Art Department’s Museum Preparator, for their generous contributions to this exhibition. Also, I would like to express my appreciation to Julianne Garcia, our Events and Communications Manager and to the supporting department’s staff for making this wonderful exhibition possible.
We invite the Stanford community to join us in celebrating this feast of imagination, narratives, and thought-provoking work from our undergraduate artists.
