In collaboration with the Courageous Parents Network, we invite you to join us for a live webinar exploring the concept of legacy and its significance in the lives of families caring for children with complex medical needs. We’ll discuss evidence-based applications of legacy research to support families during serious or life-threatening illness and examine both the challenges and opportunities for integrating legacy-oriented practices into healthcare. This session aims to foster a more compassionate, family-centered approach for those navigating difficult medical journeys.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  • Describe the concept of legacy as it might intersect with the experiences of families of children with complex medical needs.
  • Identify evidence-based applications of legacy research in support of children and families experiencing significant, extended, or life-threatening illness events.
  • Explain barriers to and opportunities for enhancing legacy-oriented practices in healthcare environments to best meet the needs of patients and families.

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Stanford Medicine is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.
