 irst novel\, The Idiot\, was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize\, and was sho
 rtlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction in the UK. The sequel\, Eithe
 r/Or\, was published in 2022. She is also the author of The Possessed: Adv
 entures with Russian Books and the People Who Read Them\, which was a fina
 list for a National Book Critics Circle Award in criticism. She has been a
  staff writer at The New Yorker since 2010 and holds a PhD in comparative 
 literature from Stanford University.\n\nMasks strongly recommended and app
 reciated. \n\nThis event is co-sponsored by the McCoy Family Center for Et
 hics in Society and the School of Humanities and Sciences Dean's Office.
