Sponsored by

This event is over.

Event Details:

How does Oakland prioritize the needs of historically marginalized communities that are disproportionately impacted by past planning decisions and face increased exposure to natural and human made hazards? The presentation will focus on the role of the City’s General Plan as a tool for building climate resilience in the city’s most vulnerable communities. Through an equity-focused, community-driven planning process, the General Plan update introduces policies and actions that center Environmental Justice Communities, ensuring climate adaptation strategies also address historical inequities.
