Event Details:
Since the US withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, the Taliban takeover has precipitated a broad assault on this society. Our panel seeks to make sense of the varied forms of violence - ethnic, religious, and gender-based - that have made the status of key communities - Hazaras, Tajiks, and others - more and more vulnerable by the day. Scholars of human rights, public policy, the law, and diplomacy will analyze the origins and effects of this violence and explore their disastrous consequences for the diverse communities that make up the political landscape of Afghanistan.
