This event is over.

Event Details:

More than 150 Stanford students are returning to campus this week from experiences working in energy policy, research, start-ups, entrepreneurship, and public service.  Many of them were supported by fellowships highlighted in the Explore Energy Seminar last year, and this is our chance to hear:  How did you get your position?  Where did you go, and what did you do?  Hear these hot-take report-backs before choosing 3 to join for more details in rotating pods.  All are welcome to join dinner in Ricker Hall to continue debriefing and meeting new colleagues.

Hear directly from both undergraduate and graduate students who have had all-star summers in energy.

Student spotlights will include:

  • Samuel Desai, Research Intern at Vector Limited, New Zealand’s largest distributor of electricity and gas
  • Akasha Fobbs, Electric Planning Policy & Modernization Intern at Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), California’s largest investor-owned utility
  • Katrina Hagedorn, Schneider Fellow at Natural Resources Defense Council on the California Climate and Energy team, a global policy-focused environmental nonprofit
  • Haley Stafford, Supplier Carbon Solutions Intern at Apple
  • Valeria Cartagena Vaca, TomKat Center-supported Strategy and Special Projects intern at Twelve, a next-generation aviation startup
  • Miki Yang, Summer Undergraduate Program on Energy Research Project Intern researching carbon capture and sequestration with Dr. Sally Benson
  • Julia Zeitlin, Shultz Fellow at the California Air Resources Board (CARB) working on freight electrification
