Apr. 13, 12p-12:30pm PT | Art as Story with Grace Li, Stanford Medical Student and author of Portrait of a Thief

Come hear grace talk about her work as a Student Guide in relation to her new book, Portrait of a Thief,  which is described as "Ocean’s Eleven meets The Farewell in Portrait of a Thief, a lush, lyrical heist novel inspired by the true story of Chinese art vanishing from Western museums, about diaspora, the colonization of art, and the complexity of the Chinese American identity."

Come hear about how artists have attempted to preserve or transform their own memory through sculpture and how these remembrances can adapt, extend, and change over time. 

Jun. 8, 12pm-12:30pm PT | Cultural Traditions in the Contemporary with Bailey Vought, Communication Major & Theater & English Minors '23

Come hear how some contemporary artists utilize their cultures as a way of discussing how tradition, modernity, and societal norms all impact our experiences in the world.
