Artist Talk: Cultivating Community with Christine Wong Yap

Stanford Neighborhood Visiting Artist Christine Wong Yap will talk about recent hyperlocal participatory research projects that gather and amplify grassroots perspectives on belonging, resilience, and mental well-being.

Christine Wong Yap is a visual artist and social practitioner who works in community engagement, drawing, printmaking, publishing, and public art. She is the inaugural Neighborhood Visiting Artist at Stanford, building community and identity around the neighborhoods and a sense of connection and shared vision for residents. Currently, she has new works up at P L A C E: Reckonings by Asian American Artists co-curated by Montalvo Arts Center and the Institute of Contemporary Art San José.
