This event is over.

Event Details:

This two-day conference at Stanford University brings together researchers to examine the evolving role of Asian Americans in U.S. politics. From voting patterns and elected office to activism, jurisprudence, and urban development, participants will engage urgent questions about representation, racial justice, and political power. The symposium features a distinguished lineup of speakers, including senior and emerging scholars, and community organizers whose work spans history, law, political science, and Asian American studies, and the keynote will be delivered on Friday, September 5 by Rep. Ted Lieu (CA). Inspired by the landmark 2001 volume Asian Americans and Politics, this gathering revisits and updates foundational debates in the field. Hosted in conjunction with the new Asian American Research Center at Stanford (AARCS), the symposium celebrates the past and looks toward the future of Asian American political life.
