Priya Fielding-Singh is a sociologist and ethnographer. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Family and Consumer Studies at the University of Utah. She received her PhD in Sociology from Stanford University and completed her postdoctoral fellowship as a National Institutes of Health scholar at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Her research and writing examine issues of social and economic justice, with a focus on families, food and health. Her first book, How the Other Half Eats, draws on years of field research she conducted on families' diets in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Harvard Business Review, and more.

Marianne Cooper is a Senior Research Scholar at the VMware Women’s Leadership Innovation Lab at Stanford University and an affiliate at the Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality. She was the lead researcher for Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead by Sheryl Sandberg and is an author of the Lean In & McKinsey Women in the Workplace reports on the status of women in corporate America. She is an expert on gender, women’s leadership, diversity and inclusion, the future of work, financial insecurity, and economic inequality. She is the author of the book Cut Adrift: Families in Insecure Times and her work has appeared in publications such as The Atlantic, The New York Times, and Harvard Business Review.
