Event Details:
Increasing the pace and scale of prescribed fire is essential to reducing accumulated forest fuels and lessening the severity of future wildfires.
While the benefits of reintroducing fire to fire-adapted ecosystems are well established, private landowners often face challenges in applying fire on their properties. In this webinar, Stanford researchers and prescribed fire experts discussed a survey of current state policies and practices, examined key challenges faced by private practitioners, and explored how policy changes could help break down barriers and expand the use of this critical practice.
