 future generations.\n\nSpecial attention will be given to how the Stanford
  Conservation Program is meeting new and pressing challenges within local 
 ecosystems.\n\nAbout the presenter:\n\nDr. Esther Cole Adelsheim is an eco
 logist who uses applied science and adaptive management for environmental 
 conservation.\n\nDr. Cole Adelsheim's research interests include:\n\nAmphi
 bian population biology and natural history.Aquatic ecology.Restoration ec
 ology.The ecology of human-modified ecosystems.Prior to her arrival at Sta
 nford\, Dr. Cole Adelsheim supported or led field studies focused on wet p
 rairie restoration in Oregon and forest regeneration in the Sierra Nevada\
 , salmonid population monitoring in the Willamette River watershed\, food 
 web ecology of migrating sea birds in the Columbia River basin\, restorati
 on of mountain yellow-legged frog populations in the Sierra Nevada\, and a
 mphibian population monitoring in Ecuadorian cloud forests and the Klamath
  Mountains in Northern California.\n\nPlease walk or bike to this event at
