 mony hosted by the Black Community Services Center. The ceremony theme is 
 “Still We Rise: With Each Step We Ground Ourselves in the Memories Made
 ”.\n\nThis annual event commemorates the many achievements of Stanford's
  Black graduating class. In conjunction with the traditional commencement\
 , it is meant to recognize and affirm Black undergraduate and graduate stu
 dents who have completed a rigorous journey through academia at Stanford. 
 Over the past 40+ years\, this event has grown in attendance to more than 
 1\,500 family\, friends\, faculty\, staff and alumni.\n\nReception immedia
 tely following the ceremony at Arrillaga Recreation Center.
