Black Church is held on select Sundays and is in the format of a worship service that is led by Rev. Dr.  SYS and the Stanford Gospel Choir. March 3 has Rev. Janis Williams Preaching.

Rev. Janis Williams' bio:

Recently retired employee from UCSF Dental Center since 1994.  As a full time career employee, Janis held the title of Ambulatory Care Administrative Supervisor/Manager 1,  here she is valued and enjoyed being a part of the predoctoral dental student provider’s education.  Janis has been licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant and played a vital role in managing a large predoctoral dental clinic. Having integrity, pride, and diversity, Janis dealt with multiple complicated issues in operations and patient care with enthusiasm; working in the same department for twenty nine years. She is currently enrolled at Skyline College to continue completing a degree in Communications and to pursue chaplaincy.  

Janis has been an ordained deacon since 2014 and she currently serves on ministerial staff at Allen Chapel AME Church of the San Francisco District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Serving the displaced community and working with the Young People’s Department (YPD) as the YPD Advisor/Director, singing in the senior choir, the liturgical praise dance ministry, teaching Sunday school and attending Bible study. She’s a member of California Conference Ministerial alliance, and California Conference Women In Ministry where she serves as Financial Treasurer for eight. 

Janis loves playing golf, swimming, dancing, going to the movies and loves to eat popcorn. Most of all Janis loves the Lord and being a servant for the Lord,  for she loves and enjoys serving God’s people.
