Event Details:
If there is one thing Michael Marmor, MD, is known for outside of his work as a brilliant clinician-scientist and ophthalmologist, it is his deep appreciation and support for the arts.
His latest book, The Artistic Eye, is a perfect marriage of those passions, featuring 250 examples of fine art with fascinating analysis that illustrates how knowledge about the eye can deepen the way one understands and appreciates visual art.
Join us March 28 for an evening with Marmor, who will offer a brief reading and answer questions about The Artistic Eye. Stick around to enjoy light appetizers, refreshments, and great company.
The Artistic Eye is Marmor’s third book on the subject of art and vision. He is also the author of The Eye of the Artist and The Artist’s Eyes: Vision and the History of Art. Those who have done sightseeing around San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf may also recognize Marmor’s name from the top of the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Truhlsen-Marmor Museum of the Eye.
