A conversation with American film director, producer, screenwriter, rapper, and socialist activist — Boots Riley. He is the lead vocalist of The Coup and Street Sweeper Social Club and he made his feature-film directorial debut with Sorry to Bother You in 2018. ”I'm a Virgo", Riley's limited-series television show premiered last year on prime video.
This conversation will focus on craft, the writers and actors strikes and the vital connection between the arts and social justice. Moderated by A-lan Holt, Resident Fellow, Burbank and Director of the Institute for Diversity in the Arts.
