Branner Earth Sciences Library & Map Collection exhibit series: Oceans

From the complexity of deep trenches to the shifting dynamics of sea ice, Earth’s oceans are vital to understanding our planet’s past, present, and future. In the 2025–2026 academic year, Branner Library’s exhibit series will feature ocean geology, biology, physics, chemistry, and mapping, highlighting their roles in regulating the climate, sustaining biodiversity, and connecting global systems.

September - October: Explore the unique geology of the Pacific Ocean with its deep trenches, fast-spreading ridges, and volcanic island chains through books, electronic resources, and maps.

Books and a selection of maps are displayed on the library's main floor. Additional maps are displayed on the library mezzanine exhibit wall (access from within the library). The exhibit is available for viewing during regular library open hours
