Branner Earth Sciences Library & Map Collection presents an exhibit celebrating Black scientists and cartographers!

The book display will feature short biographies of five Black scientists whose careers have advanced space exploration as well as suggested readings. Curated by Zachary Nunn (student library employee), and Alma Parada (Earth & Environmental Sciences Librarian).

The map exhibit highlights works of black cartographers based in California, shedding light on the long-standing presence and contributions of Black people in California history. Curated by Raiyan Haque and Karen Rodriguez (student library employees), Brynn Kramer (Cartographic Project Librarian) and Zoe Dilles (Map Librarian).

Books and a selection of maps are displayed on the library's main floor. Additional maps are displayed on the library mezzanine exhibit wall (access from within the library).

The exhibit is available for viewing throughout February during regular library open hours.
