Branner Earth Sciences Library & Map Collection presents an exhibit celebrating women's history!

 

The book display includes a selection of titles exploring the history and influence of women in the diverse fields of earth and planetary sciences and biographies highlighting the remarkable contributions of Marie Tharp, Mae Jemison, and Isabella Aiona Abbott. Curated by student worker Alex Cessna.

The map exhibit highlights the history of women's suffrage and political engagement around the world, featuring 13 countries that have major elections occurring in 2024, from the United States, El Salvador, Brazil, to Finland, Liberia, and Pakistan. Curated by student workers Raiyan Haque and Karen Rodriguez.

 

Books and a selection of maps are displayed on the library's main floor. Additional maps are displayed on the library mezzanine exhibit wall (access from within the library).
