DESCRIPTION:The simple act of breathing is something we all do every day\,
yet most of us give it little to no thought. Both ancient wisdom and moder
n research indicate that breathing is much more than simply delivering oxy
gen to the body\; how we breathe can have profound effects on our mind\, b
ody\, and spirit.\n\n In this noontime webinar\, we will discuss the mind
/body connection of breathing and learn how habitual breathing patterns an
d responses to stress can increase symptoms like abdominal discomfort\, ne
ck pains\, headaches\, and more. You will also learn the practical applica
tion of breathing techniques that have been shown to reduce symptoms. With
these practical tools\, you will discover how to be more aware of your re
actions to stress and shift your breathing patterns intentionally during t
he day to improve your well-being.\n\n Instructor: Erik Peper\, PhD\, is
a professor at San Francisco State University and international authority
on biofeedback and self-regulation. He is president of the Biofeedback Fou
ndation of Europe\, has a private biofeedback practice\, and publishes the
blog\, The Peper Perspective. His most recent book is TechStress: How Tec
hnology is Hijacking Our Lives\, Strategies for Coping\, and Pragmatic Erg
 onomics.
