Event Details:

We are inviting you to participate in Stanford's undergraduate alcohol and drug use survey! In light of recent events, both on and off our campus, we know that there are many things weighing on students' minds and well-being right now. Given all the competing demands on your time and attention, we appreciate those of you who are able to make time to take this important survey, which is anonymous. It is critical for us to collect accurate data about students' experiences with - and perspectives on - alcohol and drug use so that we may best support students' safety and well-being.

Take the Survey

Stanford regularly surveys students to gather data on alcohol and other drug use behaviors, trends, and patterns. A team in IR&DS will administer the survey and analyze the data. The information will be used to develop and assess programs, policies and initiatives at Stanford. Past survey findings can be viewed here.

Incentives: Upon completion, you will have the option to enter into a drawing. (At the end of the survey, you will be directed to a new, separate form in which to enter your information for the drawing. The information you enter into that form cannot be linked to your responses in this survey.)  Seven lucky participants will be randomly chosen to select one prize from the grand prize suite – Owala FreeSip + Squishmallow, a Great America Gold Pass, a pair of Giants tickets to a spring game, a pair of San Francisco Zoo tickets, a pair of Filoli Gardens tickets, a Sonos Roam Speaker, or a Cinemark Movie Club 12-month pass.

The survey is completely voluntary. You may answer as few or as many questions as you wish. All undergraduate students 18 years or older have been invited to take part in this brief online survey, which takes about ten minutes to complete. The survey is made up of several short sections which ask about your personal use of alcohol and drugs and your perspective on alcohol and drug use culture on campus. Your participation is very important and greatly appreciated!

This survey is anonymous. Your identity will not be linked to your responses, and we will not report the data in a form that would identify any individual. Numerical results will be presented in aggregate only. Aggregate responses will be used by Stanford for program evaluation and improvement. Aggregate responses may also be reported to accrediting bodies, national organizations or in Stanford publications and communications. Responses to open-ended questions (free responses) will be used to review programs and may be read by staff and university leaders. Accordingly, please do not respond in a way that would identify you personally. Please be aware these response boxes are not a place to report an incident or request direct assistance, as this is an anonymous survey and the IR&DS Survey team will not be able to take action on anything disclosed in an open-ended question. Stanford encourages individuals to seek assistance if they need it, and support resources are linked at the bottom of every page of the survey.
