Focused on calls for pedagogies of resistance to reimagine pathways towards more dignified and humane urban livelihoods, I will share a sequence of collaborative experiments over the last decade to unveil and validate subversive stories of antiracist resistances, initiate intercultural dialogs for dignity and forge transnational solidarities with social justice collectives in Cape Town.
Speaker Biography:
Ken Salo is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Urban Planning at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign whose collaborative teaching and engaged research projects seeks to recover the antiracist resistances of urban collectives as strategies for forging transnational solidarities between Africans in the transatlantic diaspora.
