TAPS Senior Priscilla De La Rosa presents an elevated staged reading of Ama, a jukebox Regional Mexican musical.
Following a Guatemalan immigrant's journey to America and the aftermath of a failed american dream. Based on 10+ hours of interview video footage with the playwright's mother, a true story about cycles of violence, poverty, and failed relationships. The story will be both tragic, giving a voice to a minority, and celabratory, of latine culture with enrapturing choreography and music.
Talkbacks are available after every performance for actors to answer questions about the process of creating, rehearsing, and performing Ama.
