This workshop teaches novice programmers to write modular R code and to follow best practices for data analysis. The emphasis is on building a strong foundation in the fundamentals of the R language and on best practices for scientific computing: breaking analyses into modular units, automating tasks, and encapsulating functionality. Note that this workshop focuses on the R programming language and will not teach statistical analysis.
This is an interactive workshop! Please bring your laptop with the required software pre-installed. Detailed installation instructions are available here. Contact the instructors if you need help with installation.
Please register to attend. A Zoom link will be provided upon registration. Registration is exclusively open to current Stanford affiliates and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Given the limited space, a waitlist will be available once all spots are filled.
This session is part of the week-long virtual Carpentries sequence. An in-person option will be offered the preceding week from 9AM to 12PM.
