12th Annual Free and Virtual Contemplation By Design Summit

Event Details:

In the midst of the intense challenges of modern life, how can we raise happy, resilient, and kind children? What practical and affordable methods work best in our technology-driven world?

After centuries, the profound wisdom and compassion embedded in ancient contemplative practices remain on point and available to anyone living with or working with children. Instead of reinforcing habits like reactivity and negativity, we can proactively build traits that put children on a common sense and an evidence-based path to greater happiness and wellbeing. This mindfulness-based approach seamlessly integrates into and supports all the rest of evidence-based pediatric care and education. Join Dr. Bertin as we delve into the science of flourishing, drawing on the rich heritage of ancient wisdom rooted in contemplative practices to create a nurturing environment for modern families and classrooms.

This lecture is the first session in the two-part series taught by Mark Bertin during the Contemplation by Design Summit. You are welocme to attend one or both sessions. The other session a guided practice titled Kindness and Compassion Practice also on Monday, October 20th.

Dr. Mark Bertin is a developmental pediatrician and author of How Children Thrive, Mindful Parenting for ADHD, Mindfulness and Self-Compassion for Teen ADHD, and The Family ADHD Solution, all of which integrate mindfulness into evidence-based pediatric care, and a contributing author for the book Teaching Mindfulness Skills to Kids and Teens.
