In this interactive session, Dr. Christina Hinton will discuss contemplative practices as a pathway to flourishing among members of school communities. The Human Flourishing Program at Harvard defines flourishing as holistic wellbeing, including happiness and life satisfaction, mental and physical health, meaning and purpose, character and virtue, and close social relationships. Research suggests that contemplative practices can support flourishing among children, adolescents, educators and parents in school communities.

At Harvard, she leads research on character skills, loving relationships, and flourishing among children, adolescents, educators and parents internationally. She also leads the Evidence-Based Parenting for Flourishing Families initiative. Dr. Hinton is also the Founder and CEO of Research Schools International, which carries out research and professional development in schools around the world. Prior to these roles, Dr. Hinton was a faculty member at Harvard Graduate School of Education. In addition, she worked in multilateral diplomacy and international policy-making at the OECD’s Center for Educational Research and Innovation and UNICEF.
