This event is over.

12th Annual Free and Virtual Contemplation By Design Summit

Event Details:

This session offers a space to practice mindfulness not just within, but between us. We will explore how mindful awareness can shape the way we relate, with presence, empathy, and care. Through guided interpersonal exercises, we’ll reflect on how deep listening, nonjudgment, and shared attention can touch everyday connection.

Hannah Block is a graduate student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she studies child and adolescent development in uncertainty and global change. She works with the Human Flourishing Program and Project Zero to design and evaluate interventions that promote resilience and flourishing in youth, using randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and mixed-methods approaches. After several years leading RCTs on education and crisis-mitigation interventions in rural Kenyan schools, Hannah continues to collaborate with the United Nations Environment Programme’s Faith for Earth Initiative to explore how young people cultivate inner resources—such as those nurtured through contemplative practices—for adaptation, meaning-making, and well-being in a warming world.

This session is part of the FREE Contemplation by Design Summit, Oct. 15-27, 2025.
