DESCRIPTION:Qiujiang Levi Lu (卢秋江) is a NYC-based experimental musician\, p
 erformance artist\, and composer. Their work transforms the body into a son
 ic object through interactions with movements and audio technology\, explor
 ing identity\, sound\, and space. \n\nPhantom Orbit harnesses two custom-bu
 ilt motion-capturing wearables to sculpt sound in real time. As gestures ca
 rve through space\, sonic fragments are flung across the speaker dome. Root
 ed in feedback\, the work uses hyper-directional microphone signals and a c
 horeography of spiritual movements to conjure an experientially unique fiel
 d. Lu navigates this kinetic soundscape as conductor of an ever-changing\, 
 dialectical performance with ritualistic improvisations. The program will a
 lso include an opening work featuring an augmented trombone and trumpet\, a
 s well as a closing piece for a feedback-driven laptop instrument.\n\nAdmis
