DESCRIPTION:With a two-day series of events\, Stanford University Libraries
  and the Carolee Schneemann Foundation will celebrate the Libraries’ rec
 ent digitization of Schneemann’s diaries alongside the acquisition of ad
 ditional archival materials preserved by the Schneemann Foundation\, build
 ing upon the original acquisition of the Carolee Schneemann Papers from th
 e artist in 2012. \n\nThis event listing is for a screening of three of Ca
 rolee Schneemann's films: Viet-Flakes (1962-67)\, Fuses (1964-1967)\, and 
 Plumb Line (1968-1971) on Tuesday\, October 21\, 2025 from 5 - 6:30 pm in 
 McMurtry Hall\, Room 115.  Rachel Churner\, the Director of the Schneemann
  Foundation\, will be introducing the films. Attendance is free and open t
 o all\, but registration is required in advance. Please note that there is

  Carolee Schneemann:\n\nCarolee Schneemann (1939–2019) was one of the mo
 st influential artists of the second part of the twentieth century. Her pi
 oneering work in a range of media—painting\, film\, video\, dance and pe
 rformance\, installation\, and the written word—is characterized by radi
 cal formal experimentation and critical investigations of subjectivity\, t
 he erotic and taboo\, and the social construction of the female body.\n\nC
 o-sponsored by Stanford University Libraries\, the Carolee Schneemann Foun
 dation\, the Department of Art and Art History\, the Department of Theater
  and Performance Studies\, and the Department of Feminist\, Gender\, and S
 exuality Studies.\n\nAccessing the Carolee Schneemann Papers at Stanford:\
 n\nResearchers can access the physical Carolee Schneemann Papers\, includi
 ng the diaries\, in the Special Collections and University Archives readin
 g room at Stanford’s Cecil H. Green Library. More information on how to
