Stanford Live and Stanford Athletics are pleased to bring Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour to Stanford Stadium on May 31 and June 1, 2025. Since kicking off in March 2022, the tour has received rave reviews from fans and critics alike, picking up accolades including Favorite Touring Artist at the 2022 AMAs and Tour of The Year at the 2023 iHeartRadio Awards.

At Stanford, presenting the performing arts and creating engagement opportunities for students and the surrounding community are core to our mission. Additionally, hosting artists leading the entertainment industry in sustainable practices, such as Coldplay, aligns with Stanford’s ongoing commitment to sustainability as a core value.

“Bringing this band to campus at this moment and inviting our community to be a part of this epic gathering around music is a milestone for the university,” said Deborah Cullinan, Stanford’s vice president for the arts. “The coming together of Stanford Live and Stanford Athletics, two organizations who possess a wealth of knowledge and expertise when it comes to large-scale events, is a partnership whose day has come because both organizations are committed to bringing excellent entertainment to our community.”

In addition to the co-presenters, Stanford Arts and the Stanford Office of Community Engagement enthusiastically support the stadium concert.

Coldplay’s new album, Moon Music, set new standards for sustainability, with each LP made from 100% recycled plastic bottles (nine per record). Also, on a show-by-show comparison, the current tour has so far produced 59% less CO2e emissions than their previous stadium tour in 2016/17, exceeding their original target of a 50% reduction.
