We are very excited to announce the third and final event of the Winter quarter for the Comics: More than Words Research Unit, supported by the DLCL department and kindly sponsored by the English and Art History Departments. 

We will be hosting Zach Weinersmith, creator of the webcomic Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal (SMBC) and the author of books on pop science, immigration policy (as an illustrator), space science/law/policy, and (lately) poetry for children, who will be discussing his work with Chris Gregg (Senior Lecturer in Computer Science). In this presentation, Zach will talk about how he ended up creating comics full time, how he created SMBC and how he started to branch out to other topics like children literature or books on immigration policy, and the research method he uses for creating his comics.
