Ana Miscolta will give an overview of the hazards and systemic vulnerabilities experienced by those living in San Mateo County, and how these conditions shaped community outcomes during the 2022-23 atmospheric rivers, which produced flooding, mudslides, and power outages across the region. She will make recommendations for systemic changes, as well as more immediate policies and practices our decision-makers can adopt to reduce risk for community members experiencing the most vulnerability to natural hazards.
