AI Leadership

Join us Melissa Valentine, Associate Professor of Management Science and Engineering, as Manager Forums kicks off the fall with a session on AI Leadership.

Gone are the days of static organizational charts based on gut instinct or a manager’s rolodex. Today, it’s possible to bring in exactly the expertise you need —from anywhere in the world — in just minutes.

This approach is known as Flash Teams. Instead of relying on fixed structures, teams form on demand around the problem at hand. Sometimes that means asking an expert for a quick second opinion or a brainstorming session. Other times, it involves adding someone as a full collaborator for a longer project.

The New York Times has described this model as having “revolutionary potential.” It reflects a world where:

  • Remote work has become the norm, and AI is in the loop to guide team decisions
  • Expertise can be tapped at any time, from anywhere
  • AI helps guide decisions and coordination

Melissa Valentine and computer scientist Michael Bernstein have studied flash teams in depth and will share practical lessons on how to use them. This session will provide you with a path for harnessing flash teams and AI to increase speed, agility, and impact in your organization.
