Weekly, Thursdays at 1:30 in Mitchell 452
Come join us this Thursday and learn more about granular mechanics in a casual, discussion-based setting! Each week we read a paper and discuss as a group, and chat about related on-going research. There is still time to pick a few papers for the rest of the quarter, if you have a specific topic you'd like to learn more about. Check out our slack channel here, and feel free to email Samantha Hordyk (shordyk@stanford.edu) with any questions.
"This week, we are discussing thin films and ice lenses."
Future topics could include slip avalanches in granular matter, the mechanics of brittle granular materials, or granular fingering. Add a paper you'd like to discuss to our schedule here!
