DESCRIPTION:This workshop will provide an introduction to Dask in Python fo
r satellite image analysis on distributed systems at scale. We will learn
workflows for accessing Earth Observation satellite imagery from NASA as w
e learn to interact efficiently with images that are larger than the onboa
rd memory of a single chip\, build and run custom functions targeted at on
ly the pixels needed for our analysis goals\, and process targeted\, machi
ne learning ready datasets from these images with the help of Dask's paral
lelization and distributed data capabilities. This workshop is aimed at re
searchers who have intermediate Python experience or higher\, and all leve
ls of experience (beginner-advanced) with HPC computing. Access to Sherloc
k is required to participate fully in the session. This workshop is offere
d in partnership with the SDSS Center for Computation.\n\nDate and Time: 1
