The Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability Dean's Lecture Series is a forum that brings together scholars and thought leaders to discuss the frontiers of research, education, practice, and impact related to an area or theme in sustainability. The series aims to deepen our understanding of the topic and inspire us to do more.
Taiwan's leadership role in entrepreneurship and sustainability in the 21st century
Featuring Dr. James C. Liao, President, Academia Sinica
in conversation with Professor Arun Majumdar, Dean, Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability
Taiwan hosts a vibrant, high-tech economy with a unique entrepreneurial ecosystem. As head of Taiwan's national research academy, Academia Sinica President James Liao will describe Taiwan's overall approach to climate change and sustainability as well as the unique energy technologies being developed to meet the needs of a manufacturing-driven island economy. He will also highlight opportunities for expanded collaboration between Stanford and Taiwan's research community.
