Event Details:
The deep sea is Earth’s largest biome and home to countless unknown lifeforms. Ongoing efforts to map the ocean and census marine life highlight how much remains to be discovered, especially in remote ice-covered polar seas. These waters host fascinating species that continue to surprise us with amazing solutions to life under extreme conditions. New technologies are providing a better understanding of the distribution, diversity, and dynamics of life in polar deep-sea ecosystems and identifying opportunities and research needs to advance conservation plans and policies.
