This exciting virtual conference will bring together experts representing 5 major disability groups, healthcare providers, and technology & telehealth experts to explore problems/solutions to improve high-quality telehealth care for persons with disabilities. The conference proceedings will contribute to developing universal telehealth access guidelines. The conference is ideal for people who are interested in improving the access and quality of telehealth, including: the disability community, researchers, advocates, policy makers, medical centers, providers and technology/telehealth companies.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  • Develop strategies to overcome the barriers to disability inclusion in telehealth for healthcare professionals, trainees and patients.
  • Review the regulatory landscape around utilization of telehealth for those with disabilities.
  • Explore how healthcare providers can best utilize telehealth technologies for people with disabilities, including telehealth accommodations for providers & staff who have disabilities.
  • Integrate inclusive practices into telehealth services to enhance accessibility for individuals with autism, dementia, blindness/low-vision, mobility/sensory disabilities, and hearing loss.
