Celebrate this Diwali with live music, free Indian food, mehendi & Stanford–Cal teams bringing the energy! ✨

 

The Stanford Hindu Students Association invites you to DiwaliFest 2025!

Come celebrate the Festival of Lights with us through food, music, dance, and community. We’ll have free Indian food, mehendi, and cultural performances featuring some of the best talent from Stanford, UC Berkeley, and beyond.

 

What’s happening:

• Sharda Pujan (student-led) – everyone is welcome to join on stage and take home a small token of appreciation

• Performances by Stanford’s dance and a cappella groups, plus a UC Berkeley team

• Free Mehendi (henna) for all attendees

• Festive Photo Booth – snap photos with friends and capture the spirit of Diwali

• Special Guest Performance by Smt. Madhuvanti Bhide

• And of course… free Indian dinner!

We are honored to present Smt. Madhuvanti Bhide, an accomplished Hindustani classical vocalist whose artistry beautifully blends tradition with emotional depth. Trained under eminent gurus including Dr. Alka Deo Marulkar and Pt. Arun Dravid, she holds a B.A. in Performing Arts from the University of Pune and the Sangeet Visharad from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.

Her repertoire spans classical, semi-classical, and light music, making her performances accessible yet deeply rooted. Over the years, Madhuvanti has performed widely in India and the U.S., captivating audiences in Pune, Mumbai, Kolhapur, and across the Bay Area.

She is also the recipient of numerous accolades, including top prizes at All India Radio competitionsGandharva Mahavidyalaya contests, and recognition from prestigious cultural institutions for her contribution to Indian classical music.

With over two decades of performances and teaching, Madhuvanti continues to inspire with her devotion to music and her ability to connect with audiences on a profound level.
