Guest spekaer Dr. Tatsunori Hashimoto, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Stanford, will share insights on emerging AI and LLM innovations across Asia, highlighting how technical and geopolitical factors are shaping the next wave of model development.

Dr. Richard Dasher, Director of the US-Asia Technology Management Center, will serve as moderator.

About our speaker:

Dr. Tatsunori Hashimoto is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University, where his research focuses on developing more robust and trustworthy machine learning systems. His work applies statistical tools to improve reliability and fairness in complex models such as large language models, with interests spanning long-tail behavior, out-of-domain understanding, and bias mitigation. Before joining Stanford’s faculty, he was a postdoctoral researcher with John Duchi and Percy Liang at Stanford and earned his PhD from MIT, where he was co-advised by Tommi Jaakkola and David Gifford.
