Event Details:
The Stanford Center for Teaching and Learning is excited to offer an Experiments in Learning lunch discussion, facilitated by Dr Penelope Van Tuyl, Associate Director of the Center for Human Rights and International Justice. Dr Van Tuyl will be kicking off our year with a timely discussion of how her program has adapted campus technology to help students with the university's new capstone requirement:
"As capstone requirements roll out university-wide, many of us have been exploring and discussing how faculty and staff can meaningfully and effectively support undergraduates at scale. The Minor in Human Rights program developed an online capstone course to preserve the flexibility and individuation that students value, while streamlining administration. We'll demonstrate what the Human Rights Capstone course looks like on Canvas, explain how it engages students, and discuss some of the challenges of piloting this tool."
