Event Details:
Generations of Americans have been systematically pushed towards the socioeconomic margins of society, which makes daily life a challenge. A subset of these marginalized communities exists in coastal regions of the country, the physical margins, where they contend with the dynamic effects of human driven climate change. The effects of climate change are chronic (i.e. sea level rise and saltwater intrusion) and acute (i.e. flooding, hurricanes, heat waves, and cold snaps), however both contribute to and create new inequities, considerable research is needed to understand social vulnerability and to create equity-focused solutions.
