EPS Seminar: Dr. Cori Myers - Revisiting the mechanisms and thresholds of mass extinctions

Sponsored by

Event Details:

This seminar considers the influence of thresholds as related to mass extinction dynamics and presents a first-order test of the relationship between Earth System conditions before large extinction events and extinction intensity.

Dr. Corinne Myers is an associate professor at the University of New Mexico with research interests in macroevolution, macroecology, and mass extinctions, especially at the end-Cretaceous. Her work focuses on ecological modeling of North American marine invertebrates from the Late Cretaceous Western Interior Seaway and Gulf/Atlantic Coastal Plains.
